They must be told about the medication that you take.<\/p><p>Your Doctor will advise you to speak to the DVLA &#8211; he has a duty to do so. It is 1 year of total abstinence for alcohol dependence.<\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The DVLA definition of alcohol dependence is\u00a0<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a strong desire to take alcohol,\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">difficulties in controlling its use.\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Persistent use despite harmful consequences\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and evidence of increased tolerance\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and sometimes a physical withdrawal state.<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-151c829 mitigation.<\/p><p>In 99% of enquiries, I will refuse instructions for Failure to Provide or &#8220;Drink-Drive&#8221; cases.<\/p><p><em><strong>Very<\/strong><\/em> rarely, where the evidence is clear and backed up by mental illness, BWV, GP Medical Records, and video of the EBM procedure, I will discuss the case with the solicitors, and am happy to offer advisory services:\u00a0<\/p><p>I did
